Design Process

Consultation
The design process begins with a complimentary phone call during which we assess your level of service. We discuss your budget and timeline, as well as any unique aspects of your project. If it seems like we’re a good fit, we’ll schedule an in-person (or virtual) meeting to go over the details. During that meeting, we’ll present a detailed proposal outlining our services and fees.

Concept
Within two weeks of signing the agreement we will present a concept package. This will include renderings, mood boards or even a 3d walk-through depending on the scope.

Design Development
As we continue to refine the concept we begin to bring in materials, lighting choices, and all of the crucial components to the design. This phase continues until we are all in agreement that we have reached the ideal.

Construction Document Review
It is essential that you have a full plan in place in order to build. We provide the construction plans as well as the material list for the contractor of your choice. We can engage a team we use, and project manage ourselves. In either case, a detailed set of instructions is required for the details of the project.

Procurement
Obtaining all that is needed. Ordering furniture, lighting, fixtures, materials, rugs, countertops etc. It must be procured. Studio Fain can manage all of the logistics to procure every item needed for your project. We believe it is best to order first. With long lead times on may custom items, it is not unusual for us to order are wait to start until times are in hand.

Construction Launch, Building and Site Visits
The messy part! There is no way to plan for everything that might happen. We visit our sites regularly and are always available. We take an active role in our clients’ projects and have a vested interest in them succeeding.

Clean Up
After the dust has settled, we come in with a thorough cleaning of the site.

Time to enjoy your new space and let us bring in the flowers and photographers!
